Welcome to our bird blog. We live in Southwestern Pennsylvania which has a surprising variety of hawks, woodpecker’s, and songbirds. During spring migration if you’re in the right place at the right times you can catch just about every warbler passing through.
In addition to the excitement that spring migration brings, one of our biggest enjoyments is observing the wide variety of birds that visit our own backyard. Enticing as many different species as possible to our feeders, has become a passion. We look forward to what new visitor each day might bring. Our property boarders woods so we also get to observe many of the spring and fall migrants as they pass through.
We have designed this web site to share our experience with other backyard birders. It is designed to be a quick easy guide to help other backyard birders identify some of the common songbirds that visit their yard. We have included some of our favorite backyard tips to help attract birds to yards and feeders. We love to share advice, and will be happy to answer questions or comments. We are also always in the learning process ourselves and welcome any tips and advice from other backyard birders. We hope this web site will provide information and tips to make backyard birding an enjoyable experience.
