Best RV Exterior Cleaning Products

Who doesn’t like the look of a clean, shiny vehicle? I know I prefer a sparkling, polished car; and same thing goes for my camper. Cleaning the exterior of your RV should be a priority and finding good cleaning products is essential. A good routine and maintenance go a long way in caring for things. My first job was actually a car detailer, so I have always had a high standard and have been very particular. This is still true in adulthood with my vehicles, including my campers. Here are the exterior cleaning products I use to keep my RV looking like new.

Roof Cleaner

Starting at the top – roof cleaner. I have used B.E.S.T Rubber Roof Cleaner for several years with great results. This product has also maintained the white look of my Henry’s Tropicool roof sealant (see our post on roof sealant HERE). The BEST Roof Cleaner has a 2-in-1 benefit in that it cleans remarkably well and protects your RV roof from harmful UV rays. Another option is the 303 Rubber Roof Cleaner. I have not personally tried this product yet; however, I have used many 303 products and have loved them all! This one is on my list to try. With that being said, BEST has the advantage of clean and protect in one, but with the 303 you will need an additional product for UV protection.

After cleaning the roof, I apply the 303 Protectant. I believe the roof is one of the most important places to protect, especially if you camp where there is not a whole lot of shade and/or if you store your RV uncovered. This cleaning product provides ultimate protection from damaging UV rays, plus repels dust, lint, and staining while also preventing fading and cracking. I also use the 303 Protectant on all of my rubber seals around the camper. It can be used on boat cushions, tonneau covers, outdoor furniture, and pretty much any rubber, vinyl, plastic, synthetic/natural product.

Wash & Wax

When I first started out camping, I washed my RV with any simple car wash and then waxed afterwards. Most recently I have been using the 303 Wash and Seal and have noticed a big difference. It has a good streak free shine, plus this product offers UV protection! A win-win!

Waxing may seem like a daunting task, but it is well worth it in the long run of maintaining your RV! Campers are BIG and have a lot of square footage. Therefore, I think a spray on wax is the way to go. I use the Wash Wax ALL from Aero Cosmetics. Honestly, I do not think it provides as good of protection as standard waxes but from a time efficiency it is WAY better. I could wax the camper 3-4 times with spray on and I do it more frequently than a typical wax. I have used Wash Wax ALL on our camper as well as all of our vehicles and see the water bead on it for weeks to months. This product provides a good, long-lasting shine and I highly recommend it.

RV Cover

After all of your hard work, don’t you want to keep it looking like new and protect it? I think an RV cover is very important for longevity of campers as it protects the RV from all elements. I was originally given a cover when I bought mine used but had to purchase a Classic Accessories Cover this year. So far it has held up, is easy to use and is very durable.

I hope this list of exterior RV cleaning products is helpful for you. Please feel free to comment or contact us with any questions or concerns. Keep those campers lookin shiny and new! Happy camping!
