When I say our camper is brown, I mean it is baarooown!! It’s a 2017 Rockwood Minilite model, color brown. You know when you were a kid and you could “paint” on the computer? You would choose your paint color and click within the solid black shape you wanted to color, and bam the whole shape changed to the color of your choosing? So our camper is basically that – dipped in brown. To add some lightness and freshen up our space, we decided to add some peel and stick wallpaper.

Applying Peel & Stick Wallpaper
We chose this shiplap pattern we bought off of Amazon. I recommend buying more than one roll. If you’re anything like us, once your done with one wall, you’ll be thinking “where else can I put this stuff?!”
Installing the peel and stick wallpaper is pretty easy and self explanatory. We started out by measuring the space we first wanted to cover, which happened to be our Murphy bed wall.
To give us a little more room, we measured the wallpaper outside and made our cuts there as well. With most peel and stick wallpaper, there is a pattern you will have to consider when lining up your pieces side by side. To match up a pattern, you may have to sacrifice some of your wallpaper (another reason why I suggest you buy more than one roll).
After you have made your cuts, you remove the back adhesive paper and gently place your design on your wall. For your first sheet, I strongly suggest using a level (place on the side) so each sheet thereafter will also be straight. There may be some overlap at the top, which is completely fine, as you can trim this off at the end. The wallpaper comes with a “smoother” you use to press out the folds and air bubbles. With some areas, I find it easier to smooth out with your hands, and once you like where you have it use the smoother. One great thing about this material is that it is very forgiving. If you don’t like how you placed your paper, just pull it up and place again. It is also forgiving in terms of flexibility. You can easily stretch the material to the edge of your wall or adjacent piece.
The Transformation
The end result is beautiful! SO much lighter and brighter! Once we finished this wall, we decided to add some to our refrigerator/freezer door, as well as the wall that holds our tv. Now all I have to do is convince my husband to help me take on the challenge of painting our cabinets!
Update: Since writing this post, we added the wallpaper to the top of our murphy bed, refrigerator, and behind our tv!
