Just because you’re camping doesn’t mean you can’t binge watch shows by a fire, or inside the camper. Netflix and chill? Netflix and campfire?? Yes please!! Streaming while camping can be done if you have the proper equipment and plan!

Obviously, most campground’s internet is not reliable for streaming TV shows/movies. We have found that you can download shows to your phone/tablet via Netflix and Hulu. Plan in advance, and download your shows/movies when you have a reliable connection, then it’s just plug and play. Everything on Netflix/Hulu is not downloadable (unfortunately), but they do both provide a huge selection.
We have Apple products (iphone/ipad) so we use the Apple Lightening to Digital AV Adapter. You literally just plug in the adapter to the device (iphone/ipad) and then connect the other end to your TV via HDMI. We have been using the lightening adapter to stream while camping for months, and it works perfect!
We tried a couple generic brands, but didn’t have much luck with sound/quality, so we splurged for the Apple product. I am not familiar with Android adapters, but from what it seems, there are numerous options to accomplish the same thing. Streaming while camping isn’t always necessary, but it is nice to still be able to watch some of our shows during bad weather or those moments where we just need to distract the kids!
